Our Garden

We cleaned up our veggie garden on Mothers day weekend and planted a few tomatoes, peppers, green beans, broccoli, swiss chard, zucchini and cucumbers and one lonely watermellon plant that Annie kind of distroyed a few minutes before it actually got into the ground. It is trying to make a comeback but I think it will be dead before the weather really warms up. While we were planting we tried to get Annie to help out but she was more interested in pulling up the vegetable lable stakes. Once we got the hose out to water, all she wanted to do was to hold onto the hose and get everything wet. I did take some photos of that day, but I can't find them on our computer, maybe I forgot to upload them from our camera. Anyways, here is a photo of the gift Annie made for me for Mothers Day.

Back to school after long weekend

Well, after being out of school since last Thursday afternoon, Annie was back full force ready to play with her classmates. She just recently moved up from the nursery to the toddler room and is loving it. When she was in the nursery, she would always be ready to go home when we arrived to pick her up at the end of the day, she would drop everything and run over, pointing to her bag, she couldn't wait to get out of there! But now in the toddler room it is a different story. When I pick her up they are usually out on the playground if it is nice out or in the gym if it is rainy or cold. She is still excited to see me, but she just has to get a little more playtime in before she leaves. She'll show me how she can go down the slide, or climb up the stairs. If they are in the classroom, she will show me what she has been playing with recently or we will have to read a book or two before she is willing to leave for the day. I guess it kind of makes me sad that she isn't as happy to see me as when she was in the nursery, but it also makes me happy that she is having such a good time in the toddler room and doesn't want to go home just yet.

Memorial Day Weekend

Hi all!

Our first post, Memorial Day Weekend. Yesterday we went to our neighborhood block party and we were surprised how many kids there are on our block. We all had a good time, especially our party girl, Annie. She was up past her bedtime enjoying watermelon, cake and ice cream, and playing with the other kids. We met a few high school age girls who were looking for babysitting jobs this summer so I think we will try them out soon!

Tomorrow we are having a few friends over for a BBQ, and to break out the old corn hole set. I'm sure Annie will be a natural!
